Belle
Belle is my version of the famous fairy tale La Belle et La Bete (Beauty & the Beast) by author Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. She was created for my senior show in collage.
Ever since I was young I have loved classic fairy tales. However I don’t remember any of the heroines looking like me. So when it came to what I should create for my senior show re-creating black versions of famous story maidens instantly came to mind.
Belle size is 11” X 14” and created using watercolor paint.
